The FC Students will be partnering with Lighthouse Family Retreats and CHOA this year during their fall retreat November 22-24. They will be making gift bags for children who are being treated for cancer, their parents, and the nurses treating them. They would love for you to help be a huge part of this gift by donating items to fill the bags. You will notice barrels around the building where you may drop off your donated items. Beginning November 17, the DFCS Christmas area will be set up in the foyer near the library. This is an amazing way for us to care for and love kids who are in the foster care system as well as our Rockdale County DFCS staff. Please stop by before or immediately following the service each of these Sundays to pick up the name and wish list of a child, and/or the name of a DFCS staff member. (PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A NAME UNLESS A TABLE ATTENDANT IS PRESENT). We ask that you purchase 3 gifts for the child you choose, or write a Christmas card and pay $30 in cash or check made out to the church, so we may purchase a gift card and lunch for a DFCS staff member. Children’s gifts are due by 5pm, on Thursday, December 5th.
Join us Friday, December 20th for a fun Christmas event for the entire family! We encourage you to join us for dinner at either 5:30pm or 7:00pm in the Gathering Place. While inside, enjoy an interactive Christmas experience complete with story telling and activity around the tables, celebrations, music, fun, and more. Tickets will be sold for $6 per person and you will be provided with a spaghetti dinner. While you are not inside for the dinner, nativity animals, cookie decoration, smores, and hot chocolate will be available outside, adding to the Christmas fun, all to help us remember what Christmas is all about.
